The Trump administration signs a historic deal with the Taliban, while trying to combat the coronavirus. Meanwhile, President Trump speaks at CPAC, the annual Conservative Political Action Conference.
At the end of February, the administration signed a peace with the Taliban, signaling a beginning of the end in the war with Afghanistan. While there was optimism on both sides initially, over the course of the first week there’s been an escalation of violence with the U.S. and the Taliban. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo called the surge of violence “unacceptable”.
Meanwhile, the Trump administration is combatting the spread of coronavirus in the United States. Trump fended off critics on the other side of the aisle, accusing Democrats of trying to politicize the outbreak to score points.
Finally, Trump spoke at CPAC, energizing the audience by reaffirming that socialism will never take hold in America.
