Trump says he ‘often’ regrets tweets

When asked if he ever regrets tweets that he has sent, President Trump replied, “Often, too often.”

In an interview with Dave Portnoy, president of Barstool Sports, Trump said that he often wishes that he hadn’t sent certain tweets.

Trump, whose personal account has over 84 million followers, often makes news with what he tweets, whether it’s criticizing his political enemies, making policy or staffing announcements, or even with retweets or typos.

“It used to be in the old days, before this, you’d write a letter, and you’d say, ‘This letter is really bad.’ You’d put it in your desk, and you go back tomorrow, and you say, ‘Oh, I’m glad I didn’t send it.’ Right? But we don’t do that with Twitter,” the president said in a clip posted Friday.

“We put it out instantaneously. We feel great, and then you start getting phone calls, ‘Did you really say this?'” he added. “You know what I find; it’s not the tweets, it’s the retweets that get you in trouble.”
