‘Frustrated’ Ted Cruz paid visit by airport police officer

Sen. Ted Cruz was paid a visit by a police officer at a Montana airport after the Texas Republican received the unwelcome news that he had missed the check-in window for his flight.

A masked Cruz was filmed looking irritated while speaking to two employees at the Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport ticket lobby, at which time a public safety officer for the airport was asked to “assist” the “frustrated” senator, Scott Humphrey, the airport’s deputy director, told the Daily Mail.

“Rebooking options were limited out of Bozeman due to spring break,” Humphrey told the outlet.

CRUZ SAYS JACKSON SUPREME COURT HEARING WILL NOT BE ‘POLITICAL CIRCUS’ LIKE KAVANAUGH’S

The 23-second video of the incident, which was posted to Reddit, begins with Cruz shaking his head at the check-in counter while having a conversation with two female employees from United Airlines. It then appears to cut to a different moment in which Cruz is having a conversation with the public safety officer.

“Don’t you know who I am?!” the Reddit user who posted the video wrote, claiming Cruz had said “those exact words” while requesting to “speak to a manager about a dozen times.” The video, which is taken from behind the counter from a distance, does not capture what Cruz and the others are saying.

After missing his flight, Cruz was informed about limited options that were available to him with regard to rebooking, according to Humphrey.

“He was rebooked and departed Bozeman later that evening,” Humphrey said. “Our PSO didn’t realize he was dealing with Sen. Cruz until after the fact.”

The Washington Examiner reached out to Cruz, United Airlines, and the airport for comment but did not receive a response back.

This is not the first time Cruz has been involved in an airport incident gone viral.

Cruz received backlash in February 2021 after he and his family were photographed at Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport on their way to Cancun, Mexico, at a time when Texas was battling blackouts and extreme winter weather.
