Congressmen and former NFL players faced the U.S. Capitol Police in the 11th annual Congressional Football Game for Charity Wednesday night.
The game was played at Audi Field in Southwest D.C. Republican and Democratic lawmakers teamed up with former NFL stars to take on members of the U.S. Capitol Police in a game that benefited three nonprofit organizations, including the U.S. Capitol Police Memorial Fund, Our Military Kids, and A Advantage 4 Kids.

“The game is a family-friendly event that includes entertainment and spirited competition on the field, while bringing together Congressional and law enforcement communities in support of worthy causes,” the event’s website reads.

The game was founded to honor the Capitol Police and to support the families of fallen officers following the tragic deaths of Officer Jacob “JJ” Chestnut and Detective John Gibson who fell in action in 1998 protecting the Capitol grounds and staff, according to ABC 7 News.
