North Carolina woman attempts to steal $144 in eye shadow from store, gets arrested

This North Carolina woman is guilty of some serious crimes against eye shadow.

A 31-year-old woman named Brandy Allen attempted to shoplift $144 worth of eye shadow from Ulta Beauty Store in Fayetteville, North Carolina, on Labor Day, reports 5 News.

According to police, Allen was grabbing handfuls of make-up off shelves in the store, prompting the general manager to phone the authorities.

When police arrived on the scene, they confronted Allen and the store manager asked the woman to display the contents of her purse. She then pulled multiple eye shadow containers from her bag, trying to make each look worn by running her fingers over them. Allen went so far as to break an eyeliner in half to make it appear used.

Then, Allen began swearing in front of customers and children in the store.

“No one [expletive] saw me steal anything,” she exclaimed.

The woman was subsequently booked on shoplifting and disorderly conduct charges, and she bonded out of jail nearly nine hours after being apprehended. Allen’s bond was set at $830, just under six times the value of the eye shadow that she attempted to lift.

Judging by her mugshot, Allen got the majority of the $144 on her face.
