Sen. Rand Paul tweeted Saturday that a viral protest of a police officer hugging a 12-year-old boy at a Ferguson protest in Oregon was “a sign of hope.”
The Kentucky Republican has previously weighed in on Ferguson, saying its roots lie with the War on Drugs and that people need to work to demilitarize the police.
