Fidel Castro: Cuba ready to help U.S. against Ebola

Cuba is ready to team up with the United States in the fight against Ebola.

Fidel Castro, the ex-leader of Cuba, wrote in state news media that cooperation between the two countries is in the interest of “the peace of the world,” according to the Associated Press.

Cuba has already sent 165 doctors and nurses to Sierra Leone and plans to send another 300 to Liberia and Guinea, which has prompted praise from U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry.

Cuban officials say they will try to organize more aid for the West African countries at a meeting Monday involving Cuban allies and international health organizations.
