Voters will remember the lethal consequences of Biden’s immigration policies

The topics that will decide the 2022 midterm elections will certainly be inflation and the economy. But when it comes to the cultural battles, Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) showed why Republicans have as big of an advantage as they do in current polling.

Democrats have tried to put abortion, gun control, and their other favorite cultural issues at the center of the election cycle. But President Joe Biden’s immigration policies overshadow all of them. Johnson notes that the “latest mass murder in America didn’t involve guns” in a new ad. Instead, it was “the direct result of Joe Biden’s open border policy.”

Johnson is referring to the death of 53 migrants in San Antonio from heat-related medical conditions. The 53 were trapped in the back of an 18-wheel truck. By refusing to enforce immigration law, Biden has encouraged people to cross the border illegally and put their lives in the hands of human traffickers — with lethal consequences.

Although Biden has lost control of the border, he has refused to acknowledge it. Instead, he has focused his energy on the issue of demonizing Border Patrol agents for doing their jobs. Meanwhile, predominantly Hispanic border towns have been shifting toward the Republican Party over the last few years. Despite Democratic prophesies of demographic destiny, Hispanics are increasingly turning their back on the party after witnessing, among other things, its failed immigration policies.

Biden’s failures on immigration will be among the many failures voters consider in 2022. More importantly, the president’s immigration policies have put people in danger — including the very people he is trying to show sympathy for.
