Rock icon Grace Slick, the lead singer of acid-rock pioneers Jefferson Airplane (and corporate rock pioneers Jefferson Starship) will make local three appearances this weekend to promote her art.

Slick’s paintings often reference her coming of age in the hippie/musician subculture of 1960s San Francisco.

She will appear at the White Flint Mall’s Wentworth Gallery on Friday, and at the Wentworth locations at Pentagon City and the Tysons Galleria on Saturday.

In other celeb news, actress Julia Ormond, known for her roles in “Legends of the Fall” and “Sabrina,” was spotted having dinner at Sonoma Restaurant & Wine Bar on Thursday. Dining with three colleagues, she was overheard discussing an upcoming film role.
