Poll shows Hispanics continue to distance themselves from Biden’s Democrats

Thursday is the first day of Hispanic Heritage Month, a celebration of the country’s Hispanic community. Politically, Hispanics have received widespread attention recently for defecting from the Democratic Party. Heading into the midterm elections, they are expected to play a pivotal role in determining control of Congress. Less than two months away from the election, here are where Hispanics stand on many of the issues.

According to the most recent Economist/YouGov poll, only 46% of Hispanic voters approve of President Joe Biden’s performance. A majority of Hispanic voters think the “country is headed in the wrong direction.” With record levels of crime and inflation still surging throughout the country, creating financial difficulties for much of the country, 61% of Hispanics do not support the country’s direction under Biden.

Furthermore, given the country’s economic challenges, 61% of Hispanic voters think the country is in an economic recession. This is despite the Biden administration’s strenuous and mostly successful efforts to stop the media from calling the current economic recession a “recession.”

Biden’s unpopularity with the Hispanic community shouldn’t be all that surprising, even though they comprise a historically Democratic constituency. Biden has repeatedly failed Hispanic communities since taking office. Between his administration’s fatuously radical and nonsensical use of the word “Latinx” to describe them and his aversion to border security that is devastating many of the oldest communities in the U.S. with drugs and crime to the rejection of school choice, the Biden administration has been a disaster for Hispanic voters.
