Bethesda woman, 94, missing after car crash

Montgomery County police are looking for an elderly woman who went missing after she was involved in a minor car crash.

Police said 94-year-old Miriam Sumberg, of the 5800 block of Wilmett Road in Bethesda, was in crash near Interstate 495 and River Road at about 6:30 p.m. Thursday. She exchanged information with the other driver, but did not return home and no one had seen or heard from her by Friday morning, police said.

No one was injured in the crash, but the cars sustained minor damage.

Sumberg is described as white, about 5 feet 2 inches tall and 150 pounds. She has gray hair and wears glasses. She was last seen wearing a beige, long-sleeve blouse and a brown skirt. She drives a 1989 two-door silver Nissan Sentra with Maryland license plaste number PBT961. She suffers from dementia.
