Wages, salaries, and other compensation costs for workers in the Baltimore-Washington-Northern Virginia region rose 3 percent for the year ending in September, according to federal data released Thursday.
A year ago, the region’s compensation costs were up 3.2 percent, according to the annual Labor Department report. Nationally this year, compensation rose 2.8 percent.
Compensation costs grew the most in Philadelphia, which saw a 4.6 percent jump, and the least in Detroit, which reported a 1.8 percent increase.
