President Trump said if he could redo one thing from his first term, it would have been appointing someone other than Jeff Sessions as attorney general.
“I would say if I had one do over, it would be, I would not have appointed Jeff Sessions to be attorney general,” Trump replied to MSNBC host Chuck Todd’s question what he wished he could go back and redo as president.
“That’s your, in your mind, that’s your worst mistake?” Todd asked again.
“Yeah, that was the biggest mistake,” Trump affirmed.
Sessions resigned his position as attorney general in November of last year.
His time was defined, in large part, by a tenuous relationship with the president after Sessions decided to recuse himself over investigating Russian interference into the 2016 election, paving the way for special counsel Robert Mueller to be appointed.
