Piers Morgan, anchor of Good Morning Britain, accused Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, of bullying Queen Elizabeth II with their recent announcement declaring financial independence from the British monarchy.

Morgan later opined on the matter with a tweet only containing laughing emoticons after some suggested that the family made their financial decision to “prioritise its mental health.”

The queen released a statement on the duke and duchess’s announcement after reports emerged that she held a private meeting with the royal couple.
“Today my family had very constructive discussions on the future of my grandson and his family. My family and I are entirely supportive of Harry and Meghan’s desire to create a new life as a young family,” the queen said Monday. “Although we would have preferred them to remain full-time working members of the Royal Family, we respect and understand their wish to live a more independent life as a family while remaining a valued part of my family.”
“Harry and Meghan have made clear that they do not want to be reliant on public funds in their new lives,” she also added.
