Kanye West’s surprise turn as an outsider presidential candidate continues at pace after officials with his campaign team filed paperwork for him to appear on the Tennessee presidential ballot.
West, who is leading the Birthday Party ticket with vice presidential pick Michelle Tidball, filed the more than 274 verified signatures required to appear on the Tennessee ballot in November.
The rapper, who polled 2% in a recent nationwide presidential poll conducted by Politico, has already qualified to appear on the ballots of Oklahoma, Arkansas, Colorado, and Utah.
West is pushing to get on the ballot in Wisconsin after his campaign filed petition signatures late. He recently filed more than 8,000 signatures to appear on the Montana presidential ballot, which requires 5,000 independent signatures, but state election officials threw out more than 3,000 of West’s submission, which means he won’t appear on the state’s ballot. West is also attempting to gain entry to the Wyoming presidential ballot, where he bought a ranch in 2019.
