BALTIMORE (AP) — Baltimore Police Commissioner Anthony Batts is getting a vote of confidence from the City Council.

The council confirmed his appointment Wednesday for six more years as the city’s top law enforcement official.

Batts arrived in 2012 from Oakland, California.

He’s become known as a hands-on boss who sometimes rides with officers. He has participated in the arrests of at least two gunmen this year.
