Tim Scott exposes how ‘anti-racist’ Democrats fuel racism

Democrats claim to be on the front lines fighting racism. Yet their party lives and breathes on racism, and Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) has shown just how true that is.

Scott released an ad talking about how his family went “from cotton to Congress in one lifetime.” Scott is a great American success story: the first black senator elected in the South since 1881. And yet Democrats don’t view Scott’s election and his role in the Republican Party as progress or as something to be proud of. Instead, they use his race to attack him.

SUDDENLY, DEMOCRATS AREN’T CONCERNED ABOUT THE 25TH AMENDMENT

“When I wrote a bill strengthening policing, they called me Uncle Tim,” Scott said in the ad. “When I wrote a bill cutting taxes for single moms, they called me a prop.” In a statement to the Washington Examiner, Scott continued: “The Left continues to run a divisive playbook because minorities who think for themselves represent an existential threat to their fracturing coalition. I refuse to back down, because I know their attacks aren’t just about me — they want to scare all other conservative minorities into silence.”

Scott is, of course, correct. Democrats don’t believe that black people have a right to think for themselves. Think like them, or suffer racist attacks from Democrats.

When Scott said America is not a racist country, he was savaged by liberals on MSNBC, CNN, and The View. When he attempted to pass a police reform bill during the Black Lives Matter year of protests, Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) called him a token. Twitter liberals call Scott “Uncle Tim” whenever he doesn’t toe the liberal line on racial issues. Their rhetoric even made its way to MSNBC’s airwaves. The Washington Post decided to downplay the history of racism against Scott’s family, declaring that his family didn’t have it so bad in the Jim Crow South — just imagine them saying that about any other black person living at that time.

Of course, the Democratic Party and its media allies fall back into these racist attacks against Scott because their ideology is inherently racist. Democrats think they own minority voters and that being nonwhite is inseparable from being a Democrat. Scott, a rock-ribbed conservative who happens to be black, is an insult to the very existence of their party.

Racism is now the Democrats’ entire schtick. Their party cannot survive — it cannot keep minority communities in a state of existential panic so that they keep voting Democrat — unless they magnify and create a racial crisis around every possible incident. Every individual racial incident has to be turned into something reflective of society as a whole. This is why they are so eager to embrace racial hoaxes, ranging from Jussie Smollett’s fake hate crime to the Black Lives Matter movement itself, based as it is on the lie that Michael Brown was a victim and not a violent attacker.

When they can’t find racism, Democrats invent it, claiming some specter of “systemic racism” looms in every institution and every area of life and that only the latest Democratic Party priority can fix it. They also work as hard as they can to racialize both sports and religion, because they want to eradicate or infect with racial animus every institution that might remain a source of goodwill between people of different races.

We will always have a few racist yahoos in this country. But the main reason we cannot move beyond race today is that the Democratic Party will not allow it. It would be political suicide for them. No matter how many times someone like Tim Scott shows us the path forward, Democrats will continue to drag the country backward into a society where everything and everyone is boiled down to skin color and nothing more. Democrats need as much racism and racial division as possible, and that is why it is so important to oppose their racial obsession.
