Six-year-old killed in Prince George’s house fire

A six-year-old boy was killed early Sunday morning in a house fire in Lewisdale, according to Prince George’s County fire officials.

Fire officials received a call alerting them to the fire in a one-story brick home on the 2400 block of Griffen Street at about 3:45 a.m. Sunday. The fire was put out in about 10 minutes.

In addition to the boy, two women, approximately 30 and 60 years old, were found unconscious in the house, though they were revived by firefighters and transported to a hospital for further treatment. They are currently in critical condition, according to Prince George’s County Fire and Emergency Services spokesman Mark Brady.

A fourth woman, also about 60 years old, escaped from the home before firefighters arrived on the scene. The three women are believed to be the mother, aunt and grandmother of the six-year-old.

Brady would not release the names of the deceased or his family members. Fire investigators are still determining the cause of the fire.
