Whoops indeed! A Democratic Congressional candidate accidentally listed a Republican attack site sponsored by the NRCC on official forms for the FEC.
Amanda Renteria, who is challenging Republican Rep. David Valadao in California’s 21st district, accidentally listed www.Renteria4Congress.com as the site of record for her campaign on the initial Statement of Organization form filed with the Federal Elections Commission back in October. Renteria4Congress.com is owned by the National Republican Congressional Committee, who calls her “the epitome of a Washington insider” for her work as Chief of Staff for Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-Mich.) and the Senate Agriculture Committee. She had previously worked as a policy advisor for Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) and at the investment firm Goldman Sachs as well.
Renteria “took a trip through the revolving door to Capitol Hill and received over one million dollars in taxpayer-funded salary,” the website says.
The correct address for the website is actually www.amandarenteria.com, as reflected on amended forms filed with the FEC.
“The person responsible for drafting the statement made an inadvertent error,” Renteria spokeswoman Emily Nowlin said in an email to The Fresno Bee. “The filing has already been corrected.”
According to The Hill, California’s 21st Congressional District is 71 percent Hispanic and is a major target for the Democrats this cycle.
