Trump rips ‘Mini Mike Bloomberg’ over remarks about man who stopped Texas church shooter

President Trump slammed 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg over his critique of the armed Texas man who stopped a church shooter by returning fire.

Referring to the former New York City mayor as “Mini Mike,” the president tore into Bloomberg on Sunday, claiming he was “against” the Second Amendment.

“Now Mini Mike Bloomberg is critical of Jack Wilson, who saved perhaps hundreds of people in a Church because he was carrying a gun, and knew how to use it,” he tweeted. “Jack quickly killed the shooter, who was beginning a rampage. Mini is against the 2nd A. His ads are Fake, just like him!”

Trump appeared to be responding to comments Bloomberg made earlier this month about the Texas shooting when he expressed hesitation over the “average citizen carrying a gun in a crowded place.”

“It may be true that someone in the congregation had his own gun and killed the person who murdered two other people, but it’s the job of law enforcement to have guns and to decide when to shoot,” the billionaire said during an address in Alabama on Jan. 1. “You just do not want the average citizen carrying a gun in a crowded place.”

Wilson, 71, sprang into action last month by drawing his firearm when a gunman killed two people in the middle of the West Freeway Church of Christ’s service. Within seconds, he was able to take the shooter out. Wilson, who was on duty as the volunteer security officer at the church, is now running for local office.
