Strauss, who has served on the Fairfax County School Board for most of the past two decades, has been elected its chairwoman. Strauss, who represents the Dranesville District, served on the school board from 1991 to 1993, then 1996 to the present. She was also elected chairwoman in 2001 for a one-year term. Strauss is a former elementary and preschool teacher, and was also president of the county’s PTA. Moon was elected vice chairman of the school board.
