Bernie Sanders won’t repeat Obama’s ‘biggest political mistake’

Bernie Sanders has proven he isn’t playing by anyone’s rules, including the one about not bashing the sitting president who also happens to be a member of the political party you are seeking a nomination from.

In an interview with MSNBC’s Chris Hayes on Thursday, Sanders – who admires President Obama and occasionally even chats with him on the phone – critiqued the President and promised he wouldn’t repeat what he called Obama’s “biggest political mistake”:

“Biggest political mistake that he made is after his brilliant campaign in 2008, he basically said to the millions of people who supported him, ‘Thanks for getting me elected, I will take it from here.’ I will not make that mistake,” Sanders said.

If there is one thing the independent Vermont senator isn’t afraid to do, it’s speak his mind. Last month, Sanders said confidently there was “no question” he could beat Hillary in the polls.

Sanders, who has quickly become the (even more) progressive alternative to Clinton for the Democratic nomination, called for a “political revolution” to address America’s biggest issues.
