Bernie Sanders earned $795,000 book advance in 2016

Socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., received a $795,000 advance for a book published in the days following the November election, according to a financial disclosure filed Sunday.

Sanders received the money for his book “Our Revolution: A Future to Believe In,” which was released Nov. 15.

The Vermont senator, who faced Hillary Clinton in the Democratic primaries, earned an additional $63,750 advance for a forthcoming book, which is due out in August, for young readers called “Bernie Sanders Guide to Political Revolution,” according to Macmillan Publishers.

He took in an additional $6,734 for his 1997 book, “Outsider in the House.” The book was re-released in 2015 with an updated title, “Outsider in the White House.”

Sanders’ income was more than $1 million last year, including his Senate salary, according to his disclosure.
