Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton took home the New Mexico primary on Tuesday, keeping up momentum for her campaign one day after she secured a majority of Democratic delegates.
In the process, Clinton wins the majority of the state’s 34 delegates and extends her lead in the delegate count over Sen. Bernie Sanders with only one primary contest remaining: Washington, D.C.
Ahead of Tuesday, Clinton did not campaign in the state ahead of Tuesday, deciding to campaign instead throughout California and New Jersey, which doled out nearly 700 delegates between the two states.
On the other hand, Sanders held three events in New Mexico in late May, making stops in Santa Fe, Albuquerque and Vado.
There was little to no polling ahead of the primary contest.
