The Bayhawks are far from flying high.
The 2006 season has been disappointing for the defending MLL champions. At this time last season, the Bayhawks were undefeated through seven games. This year, however, the team has won two and dropped five.

Saturday at home, the Bayhawks will be looking for a win against the Boston Cannons (6-1). The game is set for 7 p.m. at Towson University.
Baltimore midfielder Mark Frye said the team has its back to the wall. “This is the best team in the league,” Frye said. “It is a chance to see where we are as a team and try to salvage the season.”
“We need to win the faceoffs, we need to control the groundballs, and when we get shots we have to score,” Frye said. “We have the players. We just haven?t executed.”
Saturday will be Mark Millon?s first game against Boston, whom he played for in 2005. “I had a good time up there,” Millon said. “Once that whistle blows everybody is going to try and win.”
“Everybody is surprised we are not winning,” Millon said. “I have been playing this game a long time. I don?t know what it is going to take.”
Head coach Scott Hiller knew this season would be tough, but he did not anticipate being 2-5. “We have had some growing pains developing young players and getting them experience,” Hiller said.
Hiller confirmed that Tom Marechek would be out for a third straight week because of a hamstring injury. “He is a veteran, he is a leader, he is an influence and he is tough to replace,” Hiller said.
“[Kyle Dixon] might be dressing up Saturday,” Hiller said. The top draft pick by the Bayhawks has been out with a hand injury since his college season ended at Virginia. “He has been cleared by the doctor and will work out with us Friday. Right now it is 50-50,” Hiller said.
Hiller spent five seasons in Boston, four of them as the head coach. “I am very familiar with them,” Hiller said. “It all starts with Conor Gil. He is having as good a year as I have ever seen. We need to take him out of the game to be successful.”
