Actress Rose McGowan said Democrats are unaware that they are in a “deep cult” and relied on her upbringing in a cult to make the assessment.
“I am not here to make people feel bad about their political choices,” McGowan told Fox News host Tammy Bruce on Monday. “But I am here to say that you might be in a cult, too, if you don’t know the signs. And I do believe Democrats, most especially, are in a deep cult that they really don’t know about and aren’t really aware of.”
McGowan said she grew up in the “Children of God” cult and is able to recognize similarities in today’s political climate.
“And I leave the Republicans alone more because I do respect people more that are like, ‘This is what we are. This is what we’re about. This is what we’re against,’” she said.
“I find that the Democrats are really, pretty much, almost against all the same things,” she said. “They’re against changing the world for the better, and they’re for keeping a system in place that is for so few people and benefits so few, but they masquerade as the helpers.”
She added that it’s time for people to wake up and see the “propaganda machine” of extreme politics.
“My persecution and awakening from being a Democrat was so much about what I do and what I say now and so much about realizing how hardcore of a cult it is and how much it does to women and the people it says it’s going to help,” she said. “Because then why haven’t they achieved anything?”
She posted a video explaining her first Fox News hit later Monday, saying, “Tonight, they’ll run with, you know, ‘Rose McGowan says Democrats are in a cult,’ but I also said Republicans were, too.”

If “you’re serving a master that there’s no evidence is serving you, then maybe you’re in a cult. And that was my message,” she said.
