First lady Melania Trump made an unannounced visit to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Md., on Tuesday to meet with wounded service members and their families.
The visit was announced by Trump’s communications director, Stephanie Grisham, on Twitter.
Grisham told the Washington Examiner that Trump wanted to visit the military members ahead of the July 4 holiday, when President Trump and his wife will welcome military families for a picnic on the South Lawn.
“This administration will never stop supporting our men & women in uniform & the families who love them,” Grisham wrote on Twitter.
