2 MARC stations remain closed over downed lines

ABERDEEN, Md. (AP) — Two Maryland Area Regional Commuter train stations remain closed Wednesday because of downed power lines.

A MARC spokeswoman says buses are in place at the Aberdeen and Perryville stations and are taking passengers to the Edgewood station. It’s still unclear when the stations, which serve about 400 people a day, will be back online.

The stations were closed Tuesday, along with Amtrak travel from Washington to Philadelphia.

Service was suspended for much of Tuesday on Amtrak’s Northeast Regional and Acela Express lines but resumed in the afternoon.

The company said in a service alert that single-track operations through Aberdeen were underway after repairs were made. Amtrak says passengers should be prepared for delays as trains operate at reduced speeds.
