A worker in his 80s was killed Tuesday when he was struck by a truck at a construction site in Northeast Washington, police said.
It happened around 9:30 a.m. at Fort Myer Construction Corporation’s asphalt division in the 1100 block of W Street NE.

The man, who worked for the construction company, was taken to a hospital were he died. Police did not know what kind of jobs the octogenarian was doing.
A call to the construction company was not immediately returned Tuesday.
The incident, which investigators have labeled an industrial accident, is being investigated by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration and D.C. police.
Police have not released the victim’s name.
