A record number of people are serving life sentences in United States prisons, according to a new report.
A report from The Sentencing Project released Wednesday stated one out of every seven prisoners in the U.S. is serving a life sentence in some capacity. This includes someone in prison for life with parole, life without parole or a “virtual life” sentence of 50 years or more.
