$9.5 million: Amount of money brought in by “The Possession” over the weekend, making it the No. 1 movie for the second straight week. However, it was also the weakest weekend at the box office in a decade. Not a single movie grossed $10 million, including new release “The Words,” which came in third with a paltry $5 million. The top 12 films only grossed $51.9 million — the last time the top films did that poorly was the weekend of Sept. 5 to 7, 2008, when the top 12 movies only brought in $50.3 million.
