Shark gets Obama’s tongue as president reads mean tweets

The joke was on President Obama’s trolls Monday, when the commander in chief took part in a late night television tradition and read mean tweets for the audience.

“Being president is a tough job, it’s one of the only jobs where you get a new approval rating every day,” ABC host Jimmy Kimmel said. “And now that we have this thing called social media, the president gets hundreds of judgments every hour of every day. And tonight, for the second time, President Obama has agreed to read them — for our second-ever presidential edition – of ‘Mean Tweets.'”

Obama read from a phone, “Barack Obama … bro, do you even lift?”

“Well,” Obama started, “I lifted the ban on Cuban cigars. That’s worth something.”

Next, the Democratic president took on a tweet comparing him to a movie about a storm that devastates Los Angeles and leaves the streets flooded with sharks.

“Barack Obama is the…” Obama stopped, laughing before he continued with the statement. “Sharknado of presidents. Loud, stupid and overhyped. #Sharknado4.”

“Obama’s hair is looking grayer these days. Can’t imagine why since he doesn’t seem to be one bit worried about all that is going on,” the president continued.

“Is there any way we could fly Obama to some golf course halfway around the world and just leave him there?” Obama said. He then responded, “Well RWsurefergirl, I think that’s a great idea.”

“A 30 rack of Coors Light is $23 now at Sun Stop. Thanks, Obama.”

“How do you make Obama’s eyes light up? Shine a flash light in his years,” the president said. He laughed, then added, “That’s pretty good.”

“Somebody send Abama some life hacks on how to be a good president. haha. Like, I bet that would help. lol,” Obama read, then commented on the “lol” being redundant of the “haha.”

Kimmel asked the president about his social media habits — even though a team of communications staffers handles the president’s various accounts. Obama praised the professionalism of his Twitter account.

“I don’t tweet at 3 a.m. about people who insult me,” Obama said, referring to Republican nominee Donald Trump, who posted comments about a former beauty contestant who attacked him in the media last month.

The president was in Los Angeles on a three-day trip around Nevada and California, where he is campaigning for Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton and raising money for other Democratic organizations and candidates.
