Who does #2 work for? (ap photo)
Who speaks for Republicans? Everyone and no one, it turns out. A new Gallup poll asked Republicans to name the “main person who speaks for the Republican Party today.” Rush Limbaugh was the choice of 10 percent, as was former House Speaker Newt Gingrich. Former Vice President Dick Cheney rang the bell for nine percent, while Sen. John McCain was the choice of six percent.
What about former President George W. Bush? Zero percent! The Examiner’s Byron York takes issue with the poll in an earlier post here.
Just for fun, Democrats also were asked to name the Republicans’ main spokesperson. Eighteen percent said Limbaugh, 12 percent picked Cheney, five percent said McCain and four percent said Gingrich. And hey — five percent of Democrats said Bush is still the GOP’s main guy.
No one mentioned Sarah Palin? Who gets your vote?
Oh — hi!
