‘Even my two dachshunds growl’: Cavuto reads angry fan mail after Trump attack

Fox News host Neil Cavuto showed off some of the hate mail he received when he returned to his show after a short Thanksgiving vacation.

During his show on Monday, Cavuto spent the final five minutes reading off emails he received that praised his guest host, Charles Payne, while bashing him for his recent criticisms of President Trump.

“Just when I thought Fox had finally fired you, I come to discover it was only a vacation,” one viewer wrote. “Pity!”

Another added, “I heard you were going to be back today, so I took the liberty of once again muting my TV from 4 to 5 p.m. ET, ahead of my real favorite Fox show, The Five. Charles Payne had briefly made me curious what a real anchor would be like doing your hour.”

Cavuto mocked some of the comments by sarcastically calling them “hurtful.” After one angry fan asked him to stay home through Christmas, Cavuto replied, “Well, just for that, I’m working right through Christmas.”

A few fans had nice comments, but it quickly turned on Cavuto.

“I, for one, miss it when you’re not on my television. You’re abundantly fair and balanced, neither badgering the president nor sucking up to him,” the woman named Mary wrote. “Sadly though, I must warn you, I’m the only one in my family who feels this way, and because of that, I’m out-voted on what to watch. Even my two dachshunds growl when you’re on. Sorry.”

Cavuto suggested she get a German Shepherd, adding, “They love me.”

Another fan praised him but asked if he could try to get him an autograph from Martha MacCallum.

The Your World with Neil Cavuto host bashed Trump for his criticisms of Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace prior to his holiday break. Trump called Wallace “nasty and obnoxious” for his impeachment coverage.

Cavuto slammed the president for criticizing Wallace, saying, “Journalists, no matter their weight, aren’t entitled to praise you. We are obligated to question you and always be fair to you. We will. Even if it risks inviting your wrath. Like I said, you are free to rage. All we are free to do is report.”
