Who Will Replace Eric Holder?

A friend of TWS shares some ideas:

While NPR says that Solicitor General Don Verrilli is the frontrunner to replace Holder, here are two other names to put on your radar:
Deval Patrick – The Massachusetts governor is supposedly one of President Obama’s closest friends. He’s previously been spotted as a possible successor to Holder. He previously served as the Justice Department’s head of Civil Rights. Heck, Obama likes his so much, he plagiarizes his speeches. And this is the last year of his tenure as governor. Back in 2012, Patrick said he wouldn’t leave office early to serve as AG, but that was a long time ago. (Speaking of a long time ago, I’d forgotten that Patrick was a footnote in the scandals surrounding Andrew Cuomo’s tenure at HUD, as TWS reported back in the day.)
Kamala Harris – She’s California’s Attorney General. And she’s running for re-election this year, so it’s the longest of long shots to suggest she’d abruptly leave California to become Obama’s Attorney General. But SCOTUSblog’s Tom Goldstein, among others, believe she’s a frontrunner to be President Obama’s next nominee to the Supreme Court. If that’s true, then perhaps Obama will want to make her AG, if only for a short time, to polish her credentials for a 2008 Supreme Court nomination — much like he did with Elena Kagan, making her SG before nominating her to the Court. Time calls her “the female Barack Obama.” President Obama thinks she’s a serious hottie, so he might not mind having her around to brighten up Cabinet meetings. In any event, she’s a pro at refusing to enforce the laws of the State of California, so she’s well suited to lead this Administration’s policy of refusing to enforce the laws of the United States.
