Trump jokes he’s ‘jealous’ of the long applause for John Bolton

President Trump joked Monday that he was “jealous” of the long applause national security adviser John Bolton received at a tax cut round table in Florida.

“And by the way, John Bolton is here and we’ve just had a very big successful hit,” Trump said.

As Trump attempted to go on with his talk he was cut off by continued applause and a standing ovation.

“Hey John, that’s pretty good. I didn’t expect that. I’m a little jealous. Are you giving him all the credit?” Trump asked the audience. “You know that means the end of his job.

“Did our generals do a great job? Did our military do a great job?” Trump added to further applause.

Trump was referring to last week’s military strike on chemical weapons manufacturers in Syria following a chemical weapon attack on a rebel city that resulted in the death of 40 and hospitalization of at least 500 others.
