Trump lawyer Alina Habba has reportedly settled a discrimination lawsuit filed by a former employee who accused her boss of spouting racist language in the workplace.
Na’syia Drayton accused Habba of using the N-word while playing rap music and disparaging the New York attorney general as “that Black bi***,” the Daily Beast reported. The precise terms of the settlement are not immediately clear, and both sides have signed agreements to preclude public discussion about it, a source told the news outlet.
WHO IS ALINA HABBA? TRUMP ATTORNEY HAD ‘FIRSTHAND KNOWLEDGE’ OF STORED DOCUMENTS
“Habba began parading around the office seething about the judge, and complaining that she had lost her argument,” the lawsuit said. “Drayton was appalled about the racist remarks made about the Attorney General, Letitia James, and felt astonished that her supervisor, [Habba], felt comfortable and entitled to make such statements in the workplace, in her presence.”
Drayton, who is black, quit her post as a legal secretary for Habba and filed the lawsuit in July. She filed the suit in the Superior Court of New Jersey and demanded a jury review the matter.
Her law firm is located near the Trump National Golf Club Bedminster. She was one of Trump’s point people for New York Attorney General Letitia James’s sprawling inquiry into the Trump empire’s business practices. Trump delivered testimony in that inquiry last month, and Habba attested that the Trump Organization turned over all the documents sought by investigators.
At one point, when she lost a contempt case against James over the subpoena of Trump Organization documents back in April, Habba exclaimed, “I hate that Black bi***,” Drayton claimed in the lawsuit. Drayton recounted becoming increasingly uncomfortable in the workplace and began to isolate herself from her co-workers, per the suit.
Habba has denied making the profanity-laced remark about James, per the Daily Beast. Drayton emailed Habba outlining her apprehension about racial tension in the office, and she quickly phoned her in response, per the lawsuit.
“I am a f***ing minority myself … I’m not White. I used to be bullied because I am Arab … everybody listens to Kanye West — and, I’m not allowed to,” she reportedly said, according to the lawsuit.

Habba has been in the news recently for her public commentary on the Justice Department’s inquiry into Trump’s handling of classified misinformation — a case in which Trump vehemently denies wrongdoing. She cast aspersions on the FBI’s Aug. 8 raid at Mar-a-Lago, contending she was “concerned” about evidence-planting and explaining that she had “firsthand knowledge” of Trump’s Florida home due to her work on the New York case.
The Washington Examiner contacted Habba and a lawyer for Drayton for comment.
