Netanyahu to meet separately with Trump, Clinton on Sunday

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is expected to meet with Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton separately on Sunday, CNN reported Friday evening.

The meetings were organized in the last 24 hours and will take place in New York City. Trump’s team reached out to Netanyahu’s office to set up a time after Clinton’s campaign made plans with the Israeli leader.

It is unknown what specifically the Republican and Democratic nominees will discuss with Netanyahu.

President Obama met with Netanyahu on Wednesday in what was probably their final meeting before Obama’s second term ends in four months. The two have disagreed on a number of issues especially in recent years, such as the Iran nuclear agreement, but Obama moved earlier this month to improve that relationship by announcing a $38 billion security aid package for Israel.

As Obama’s former secretary of state, Clinton was sometimes at odds with Israeli leaders, but has vowed to support the country if elected. Trump has been adamant about creating a strong relationship with Israel.

Clinton and Trump will meet on Long Island on Monday night for the first presidential debate. Clinton is scheduled to visit Charlotte on Sunday after this week’s protests and riots in response to a black police officer’s shooting a black man.
