House Democrat says it’s her ‘opinion’ that Lindsey Graham has been ‘compromised’

Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., indicated Thursday that she doesn’t have any evidence to prove that Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., has been “compromised” somehow by President Trump, and is therefore helping Trump carry out his agenda.

Earlier Thursday, Omar tweeted, “They got to him, he is compromised!” in response to a tweet that noted Graham opposed Trump in 2015. Later on CNN, Omar said she made that assumption based on Graham’s latest supporting actions and statements toward Trump.

“He is, somehow, compromised to no longer stand up for the truth, and to make sure that he is fighting to protect the oath that he took in serving the American people,” Omar said. When pressed for evidence, she said she was offering her opinion, and added, “The evidence really is present to us in the way that he is behaving.”

Some on Twitter were theorizing that Omar was fanning the flames of a conspiracy that says Trump has some sort of evidence that Graham is gay, and is blackmailing him to get him to do his bidding in the Senate.

“Here we have Ilhan Omar, a sitting Congresswoman, floating around a conspiracy theory with absolutely zero evidence that Lindsey Graham is secretly gay and the GOP is holding him hostage.”

But Omar later clarified that her comments on Graham being “compromised” had nothing to do with rumors of his sexuality.

“Y’all know my tweet had nothing to do with his sexuality and everything to do with his blind cooperation w/ Trump. Let’s focus!” she tweeted.
