President Trump jokingly pretended to throw a soccer penalty card at the media during an Oval Office meeting with FIFA President Gianni Infantino on Tuesday.
“You know, in soccer, we have the referee and they have cards,” Infantino said as he handed Trump the penalty cards. “Yellow cards and red cards. Yellow card is a warning.
“And when you want to kick out someone …,” Infantino continued as he pulled out a red card.
Trump took the card from Infantino and then pretended to toss the red card to the journalists in the room.
“That’s true,” Trump said amid laughter. “That’s very good.”
“So this could be useful, I don’t know,” Infantino said.
“I like that, I like that,” Trump said.

Infantino, who was elected president of FIFA in 2016, visited the White House after North America was picked to host the 2026 World Cup. The event will be hosted by the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
Trump has repeatedly railed against the media and denounced various outlets, including CNN and The New York Times, labeling them “fake news.”
