WASHINGTON (AP) — D.C. Mayor Vincent Gray has nominated three people, including a former D.C. Attorney General, to the city’s newly created Board of Ethics and Government Accountability.
The mayor’s office said in a statement Tuesday that Gray has nominated former D.C. Attorney General Robert Spagnoletti to chair the panel. Also nominated are lawyers Deborah Lathen and Laura Richards. The body is responsible for investigating alleged ethics violations by city government employees and public officials. The board will also issue new ethics regulations and conduct mandatory training on the city government’s code of conduct.
The appointments must be confirmed by the D.C. Council.
