President Trump urged Republicans and Democrats to “come together for the good of the American people,” now that special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia probe has concluded.
“OK, so after two years of hard work and each party trying their best to make the other party look as bad as possible, it’s time to get back to business,” Trump tweeted late Thursday. “The Mueller Report strongly stated that there was No Collusion with Russia (of course) and, in fact, they were rebuffed……..at every turn in attempts to gain access. But now Republicans and Democrats must come together for the good of the American people. No more costly & time consuming investigations. Lets do Immigration (Border), Infrastructure, much lower drug prices & much more – and do it now!”

Mueller was investigating Russian interference in the 2016 election and whether the Trump campaign colluded with the Kremlin. Attorney General William Barr late last month released a redacted version of his report. It concluded that no Americans participated in collusion with Russia, but did not clear Trump of obstruction of justice.
Barr has come under fire from Democrats since then, and appeared before the Senate Judiciary Committee earlier this week to testify about the investigation. However, he refrained from testifying before the House Judiciary Committee, led by Democrats, on Thursday.
The appearances coincided with the release of a letter dated March 27 from Mueller to Barr, which argued that Barr’s four-page summary of the report did not accurately portray his investigation.
As a result, House Democrats, including Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., have claimed that Barr “lied” to Congress and House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y., said he is weighing holding Barr in contempt for not testifying.
