Kerry: Still French-ish?

French President Nicolas Sarkozy gave his address to Congress today in his native tongue, which meant that most members of Congress wore earpieces in order to hear the real-time translation.

But not Sen. John Kerry, the man who Republicans mocked in 2004 for being too cozy with the French, and even “French-looking.” Kerry eschewed the earpiece in favor of his own knowledge of the language.

Not that he was alone: DHS Secretary Michael Chertoff and Sens. Max Baucus, Gordon Smith, Olympia Snowe and Norm Coleman are among those who did likewise.
