Fighters jets will be buzzing Washington-Baltimore area skies Tuesday afternoon to practice intercepting hijacked plans and other threats.

The exercises are part of the North American Aerospace Defense Command’s exercices that have taken place in the U.S. and Canada since Sept. 11, 2001.

Scenarios could also include fighter jets, and commercial planes contracted by the Department of Defense.
