Two South Korean air force planes collided in midair during training on Friday, killing all four aboard the aircraft.
The planes, both KT-1 trainer aircraft, took off from an air force base in Sacheon and collided only five minutes after takeoff about 3.7 miles from the base, the air force said in a statement.
Two trainer pilots who were identified as first lieutenants and their instructors ejected from the planes after colliding but did not survive, according to Reuters.
