President-elect Trump took credit on Tuesday for more automotive plants and more manufacturing jobs coming to the United States, and said he’s already delivering “big stuff” before he’s sworn-in as the next president.
“With all of the jobs I am bringing back into the U.S. (even before taking office), with all of the new auto plants coming back into our country and with the massive cost reductions I have negotiated on military purchases and more, I believe the people are seeing ‘big stuff,'” Trump wrote across multiple tweets.

Since Trump has been elected, automakers such as Ford and Fiat Chrysler have announced they took his election into account when deciding to invest more in the United States. Ford canceled construction of a plant in Mexico in order to expand operations at a plant in Michigan.
He’s also held meetings with Lockheed Martin and Boeing about aircraft they have contracted to build for the government. In the case of the Lockheed Martin F-35, CEO Marillyn Hewson said last week they are close to a deal for the next production lot. Navy Secretary Ray Mabus said the promise to cut costs is “the easiest promise anyone has ever made,” because the cost is going down and will continue to go down as the program matures.
In the case of Boeing’s Air Force One replacement, CEO Dennis Muilenburg said “we’re doing to get it done for less” than the $4 billion total Trump originally cited for two replacement Air Force One aircraft.
Later on Tuesday, Trump praised General Motors and Wal Mart for hiring more workers. GM announced Tuesday it’s hiring 1,500 new workers and investing $1 billion in an American plant, while Wal Mart will add about 10,000 retail jobs in the U.S.
Thank you to General Motors and Walmart for starting the big jobs push back into the U.S.!
