Not all Republicans support a presidential pardon for former Trump aide Roger Stone.
Sen. Mitt Romney from Utah said it would be “a mistake” for President Trump to issue a pardon to his former aide Roger Stone, who was found guilty in November of lying to Congress, witness tampering, and obstruction of justice.

Prosecutors originally recommended that Stone be sentenced for seven to nine years in prison, but the president chimed in on Twitter, calling the punishment a “miscarriage of justice.” The Department of Justice walked back the recommendation of prosecutors, instead suggesting that Stone be put behind bars for three to four years. Regarding whether he would consider pardoning Stone, Trump said, “I don’t want to say that yet.”
Romney voted to convict Trump on the charge of abuse of power, saying, “There is no question in my mind that were their names not Biden, the president would have never done what he did.” He called the president’s actions an “appalling abuse of public trust.”
