Voters think Trump is his own worst enemy: Poll

Voters don’t believe President Trump’s worst enemy is Democrats, or even his fellow Republicans.

Instead, a new poll found a majority of Americans believe the president’s worst political enemy is himself.

According to the new poll from Rasmussen, 55 percent of voters believe Trump is his own worst foe, with the national news media coming in second at 25 percent.

Another 14 percent of those polled said Democrats are Trump’s top political opponents, and 5 percent are placing the blame on the president’s fellow Republicans.

When broken down by party, 73 percent of Democrats said Trump has emerged as his own worst enemy, but only 30 percent of Republicans would agree.

Instead, 37 percent of GOP voters believe the national media is the president’s biggest political opponent, and 23 percent point to Democrats.

The findings come after Trump’s approval rating hit an all-time low at the end of July, with just 33 percent of voters approving of the job he is doing, according to poll released by Quinnipiac University on Wednesday.

At the end of June, 40 percent said they approved of Trump.

Rasmussen polled 1,000 likely voters from July 30 to July 31.
