James Kirchick revives an earlier, more Freemanesque, delusion from former Colin Powell chief of staff Lawrence Wilkerson. Kirchick describes Wilkerson as “a third-rate conspiracy theorist and a borderline bigot,” and he pulls this quote Wilkerson gave to Robert Dreyfuss (one of Chas’s most strident supporters and, as Kirchick reminds his readers, also the former Middle East Editor of Lyndon LaRouche’s Executive Intelligence Review):
A lot of these guys, including [David] Wurmser, I looked at as card-carrying members of the Likud party, as I did with [Douglas] Feith. You wouldn’t open their wallet and find a card, but I often wondered if their primary allegiance was to their own country or to Israel. That was the thing that troubled me, because there was so much that they said and did that looked like it was more reflective of Israel’s interest than our own.
How does Wilkerson know you wouldn’t find a Likud card in their wallets? It’s not like those Jews would ever let anyone separate them from their wallets long enough to check. Or maybe their Likud cards are safely hidden with their Jew gold in a little bag around their necks.
