It appears Joe Biden might have some sympathy for John Boehner and his frustration with President Obama’s abuse of executive power.
Speaking to a group of individuals who supported the ABLE Act at an event Tuesday, the vice president quipped that he “actually” views Congress as an equal branch of government.
“I served in the Congress for 36 years and, as they know, I actually think it’s an equal branch of government, because that’s where I come from and it is,” explained Biden, inviting chuckles from the crowd.
On the contrary, Obama’s tendency toward executive action when he doesn’t get his way suggests that he likely feels otherwise. Might this be Biden’s attempt at distancing himself from Obama ahead of a 2016 presidential bid?
The White House event commended the benefits of the ABLE Act, which creates new savings accounts for families affected by disabilities. The law was passed late last year.
